Dr. Michael Chiu Joins AEi Management Team
DR. CHIU ADDS ORGANIZATIONAL LEADERSHIP & OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT DEPTH TO CAMERA MODULE ASSEMBLY & TEST EQUIPMENT MAKER
WILMINGTON, MA – May 3, 2013 Dr. Michael Chiu joins Automation Engineering Incorporated (AEi), a global supplier of high-precision camera module assembly and test automation systems, as director of project management and operations support. Dr. Chiu brings a track record of success in early-stage technology, product commercialization, and business development to AEi’s management team.

Dr. Chiu’s most recent experience was as founder and CEO of GeckoCap and RespirGames, early-stage startups focused on diagnostic and therapeutic devices for pediatric pulmonary disease. Prior to this, he was president, chief technology officer and founder of Trophos Energy, leading them from start up through acquisition. Dr. Chiu’s previous management experience includes rising through the management ranks at Teradyne including positions in business development, engineering management and as general manager with responsibilities for global support of quick-turn system customization of semiconductor equipment.
Dr. Chiu currently serves as on the board of directors for LGL Group (AMEX: LGL) as chairman of their compensation and strategic planning committees and as a trustee of Cambridge Health Alliance. He has an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management’s Fellows Program in Innovation and Global Leadership, as well as a PhD and master of science degree from MIT in high precision machine and systems design. Dr. Chiu is a graduate with a bachelor of science degree from the University of Minnesota. He holds six patents and is a recipient of R&D Magazine’s R&D 100 Award.
