AEi Announces the Release of Advanced Camera Electronics (ACETM) Option for CMAT Platform
Now Single Camera Electronics Interface System Supports All Image Sensor Communications

AEi announced that it has released Advanced Camera Electronics or “ACETM” for the CMAT-Modular camera assembly and test platform. The ACE camera electronics architecture is the only single system available on the market that utilizes a standard interface connection and provides customers with the ability to communicate with all types of IMAGE sensors without the need to swap out hardware and software. ACE will be used to interface with cameras used in autonomous cars, ADAS systems, drones, virtual reality and mobile smartphone devices. ACE communicates and captures image sensor information and is available with any or all of the following standards: parallel, CSI-2 MIPI 4-lane, SPI, I2C, LIN, CAN, NTSC, Ethernet, GPIO, Power over Coax, Sony Proprietary sub-LVDS, up to 6 programmable, independent power supplies, programmable clock to 150MHz and VCM and OIS support. High-speed camera interface communication is an essential element of the active alignment camera assembly process.
AEi’s design team developed ACE with a standard signal interface to dramatically increase production system efficiency, no need to swap out camera interface between different camera assembly and test. The ACE system grows with your technology and is future proofed to keep up with the latest communication standards or custom interfaces that are in development. With ACE’s extremely high bandwidth PCI-E interface, users maximize the CMAT system throughput for even the largest pixel count image sensors on the market without the delay of data transfer. ACE is built for production manufacturing.
The ACE architecture also supports stereoscopic camera alignment with RTATM (Real Time Alignment) of two independent cameras. “ACE’s stereo feature with RTATM is a huge advancement and is only available with ACE from AEi ”, said George Rose, Director of Product Strategy at AEi. At the heart of the design, ACE’s backplane allows the system to be customized and stay up to date with the latest communication standards and protocols. The ACE™ option is available on all AEi CMAT-Modular systems, CMAT-M, CMAT-FFT, and CMAT Lens Inspection. ACE™ is also available for installation into pre-existing field installed CMAT-M systems.
