WILMINGTON,Mass.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Automation Engineering Incorporated (AEi), a global supplier of high precision automation systems, has developed a new modular design for its signature camera module alignment platform, CMAT (Camera Module Align, Assembly, and Test). This design uses existing functional modules to quickly assemble a system that meets each customer’s unique manufacturing needs.
According to CMAT product line manager, Geoff Olson, “Over the last three years, we have seen increasing demand for a highly flexible automation platform that can be delivered quickly, meet specific manufacturing needs and control costs. With our new CMAT modular design, AEi is in a better position to meet this demand while maintaining our demanding standards for performance,” concluded Olson.
Customers will have access to five standard platforms: camera align, adhesive dispense, material handling, secondary UV cure and camera test. Custom modules are available upon request. Additional modular functionality can be added at a future date allowing CMAT to be used as a common automation platform for both new product development and full-scale production deployment.
According to CMAT product line manager, Geoff Olson, “When designing the new CMAT, it was critical to future-proof the manufacturer’s investment. Similar to our previous designs, our customers can quickly transfer the control sequence logic and fixturing used in development across additional CMAT stations for camera module production ramp up – even if production is in another facility on the other side of the world,” concluded Olson.
