AEi WINS CELL PHONE ASSEMBLY AND TEST MANUFACTURING STATIONS
New Contract Includes Stations for Ten Manufacturing Lines
Wilmington, MA – May 18, 2005–Automation Engineering Incorporated (AEi), a leading supplier of high precision automation systems, has won a contract for its advanced automation stations for a total of ten manufacturing lines in China. These stations will perform fully automated alignment and functional test functions for the most critical manufacturing operations required to produce camera modules. AEi is not disclosing further terms of the contract.
According to AEi Chief Operating Officer Justin Roe, “These stations will be using our proven mechanical and electrical designs and advanced control algorithms to actively align the components for assembly and test operations. Cycle times project to be approximately one tenth of comparable manual stations previously deployed by our customer for earlier product lines. This will help them ramp up to full production very quickly and with high yields to meet their demanding market timing requirements.”
