AEI TO INTRODUCE NEW PHOTONIC AUTOMATION PLATFORM EXTENSIONS AT OFC 2004
New Modules Will Improve Product Yield and Increase Manufacturing Flexibility
Wilmington, Massachusetts February 12, 2004 Automation Engineering Incorporated (AEI) will be introducing and discussing a series of new automation alternatives at the 2004 Optical Fiber Conference (OFC) later this month on February 24 - 26 in Los Angeles. This includes new modular software algorithms, fixturing, and material handling modules to support an ever-expanding range of different packages and components in opto-electronic products.
"For the near term we see limited stability and predictability in the design and standardization of packaging and components in opto-electronic products. The flexibility of AEI's easily reconfigurable software, fixturing, and material handling modules will allow our customers to more easily adapt their product designs as needed as the photonic and telecommunications markets evolve in the coming months and years." stated Frank Leard, Principal Process Engineer at AEI .
"The needs of today's market in opto-electronics are heavily slanted towards flexibility and agility. This applies to everyone from contract manufacturers to small start-ups as well as larger manufacturers that need to be able to introduce new products quickly to stay in the game until the market comes back." added Justin Roe, AEI's Chief Operating Officer.
