AEi RECEIVES SIGNIFICANT NEW ORDER FOR AUTOMATION OF MEDICAL DEVICE ASSEMBLY
Automated Assembly Equipment Will Improve Manufacturing Yield and Throughput
Wilmington, Massachusetts. March 31, 2003 - Automation Engineering Incorporated (AEi) today announced the receipt of a new significant order to automate the fabrication of various precision assemblies for a major medical device manufacturer. The contract calls for AEi to first prototype the manufacturing process and to optimize device designs for automated fabrication and then deliver flexible automation equipment for the products to be manufactured.
“Our customer is assembling these devices now using manual processes and the quality of the finished product is not as high or consistent as they would like. They would like to implement flexible automation systems to address this issue plus also to increase volume of production per shift. We will be using our previous experience automating the manufacturing of similar devices to accomplish these goals.” Said Mark Kozak, the lead project engineer at AEi who will be directing this effort.
“The need for AEi to provide a complete solution, including process prototyping and design for manufacturing services in addition to one or more automation systems is common to many of our customers. This level of support helps to make sure that whatever level of automation we supply is optimized to meet our customers’ requirements.” Said Andre By, Chief Technology Officer and founder of AEi.
