AEi ANNOUNCES ENHANCED VERSION OF MULTIPROCESS ASSEMBLY MACHINE
Automated System Implements Laser Welding, Epoxy Dispense, and Solder Reflow on Single Platform
Wilmington, Mass. January 8, 2003 - Automation Engineering Incorporated (AEi), a leading supplier of flexible automation solutions, today announced that an enhanced version of its Flex1000 flexible assembly workstation is now available. The modular automated workstation supports a wide range of different manufacturing processes with different levels of automated material handling also available.
"Many of our customers need to have a modular automation platform that supports different processes and fixturing for new products and changing products they need to manufacture. This is especially true with contract manufacturers that don't even necessarily know what products they will be making in a few months from today but it also applies to other manufacturers in industries where new products need to be introduced quickly. The new processing modules and material handling modules supported by the enhanced Flex1000 platform can really give our customers a competitive advantage." Said Justin Roe, Chief Operating Officer at AEi.
"The versatility of the modules available for the Flex1000 platform allow many different products to be made on one machine. This includes quick-change tooling options for automated material handling and quick-change fixturing nests with kinematic couplings for precise repeatability. When combined with our available machine vision options this results in a very flexible and adaptable automation solution." Said Andre By, Chief Technology Officer at AEi.
