Quick Change Tool Changer Smaller for Precision Automation Applications
Wilmington, Mass. December 2, 2002 Automation Engineering Incorporated (AEi), a leading supplier of flexible automation solutions, today announced that it has introduced a new mini-tool changer to support precision manufacturing needs in a wide range of industries.
"We needed a smaller foot print to accommodate the limited space available in typical micro- and nano-assembly automation systems. We also wanted to incorporate an integrated means of sensing a tool pick status plus used a fail safe design where the tool stays engaged even if electrical power and compressed air is lost. The entire system works very reliably as well." Said Paul Benson, Lead Project Engineer at AEi.
